I started by studying the book and understanding the dark themes,
horror aspects and characters.
To pay hommage to the dark themes and mood of the book and
reflected that in the overall colour palette. I also used the mirror to
represent the reflective nature of the plot of the book. The chess
pieces represented how 2 main chracters are pawns in the game
while the main antagionist has been in the game so long they have
become crocked. While the hand represents the main character’s
want to break out of the game.
